Sonko Tijan, a 28-year-old man from Gambia has been arrested after it was discovered that he had four wives, seven fiancées and five girlfriends scattered across Austria.
Tijan had women all across the country. The youngest of his women was 22, and the oldest 44, and he is also married to another woman in his home country, where he also has children.
His undoing would come after he married Sonja Maier, a month after meeting her.
A year after getting married to him, Maier was browsing Facebook when she stumbled across another woman with the surname and an husband that looks exactly like hers.
After perusing the woman’s profile, she realised that the woman’s husband was Tijan. She said, “I thought that either he had a twin I never knew about or he was cheating on me.”
Maier got in touch with the woman, and after speaking, they confronted him but he would later disappear, which prompted them to make a complaint to police.
The complaint led the Police to discover that Tijan had 16 different women who thought they were in an exclusive relationship with him, including three who were married to him.
The Police also discovered that he has a network of women across Austria from the western state of Vorarleberg to the capital Vienna, as well as the 15 active lovers.
He also has four children with different women in Austria, while two of his current girlfriends are pregnant.
